Left Handed Chords Guitar Information
The Challenge Of Being A Left Handed Guitarist
The majority of musical instruments can be played equally well by those who are either right handed or left handed, and switching from a right handed musician to a left handed one with the same instrument is not usually a problem. However, in the case of the guitar this is not always true, and although some models of guitar can be handed over from a right handed person to a left handed one without any trouble or difficulty, there are many cases when a guitar is very clearly designed for someone who is specifically right handed that would prevent a left handed person from being able to play it at all, or at least, not effectively.
Guitars can often be constructed specifically for a left handed or a right handed person, and there is a marked difference between the role of the dominant hand and the secondary one. So in the case of a right handed person, the dominant hand would be their right one, with their left hand being considered the secondary hand. It is the role of the dominant hand to pluck or strum the strings of the guitar, with the secondary hand being used to hold the strings against the fret board or neck of the guitar to construct the chords to be played. The reason for the hands being used in this way round may seem odd at first, since, for a right handed person, it would appear that the left hand is doing more work through constructing a complex sequence of chords.
Often, for a beginner, one of the greatest challenges lies simply in being able to train the secondary hand to physically bend, twist and stretch to the chords, because our secondary hands are not as dextrous or flexible as our dominant ones, and although in normal everyday life this is never really noticeable (unless you try to write with your secondary hand), when playing a guitar it becomes very noticeable. However, the reason for playing a guitar this way round is because, once the chords are learnt and achievable, most of the expression of the music is generated through the strumming of the strings by the dominant hand, and the dynamics, tone and colour of the music comes almost entirely from this hand.
Our dominant hands are better able to create the very subtle distinctions in playing style which produce the expression of music, and overall quality, whereas our secondary hands are far more clumsy, and whilst we can teach them the basic chords, teaching them the subtly of tone and dynamics would be an almost impossible task. The same method of playing is true for those who play the violin, with the left hand, or secondary hand, being used to hold the neck of the instrument, and play the chords, with the dominant hand holding the bow which is responsible for giving the instrument the voice, tone and colour of the music.
There are some people who do not believe that the option of playing with either left or right hand should be available, and that everybody should play the instruments in the same way, with left handed people holding a guitar or a violin in the same way as a right handed person, but these people are generally a minority. No information is available as to whether these people are right or left handed however! It is unlikely that a standardisation of guitars and violins is likely to occur, since there is already a wealth of styles, designs and many custom options available to players, and many people develop their own style of music and performance through the natural way in which they hold the instrument.
Certainly with famous left handed guitarists including the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney and Kurt Cobain, it is unlikely that left handed guitarists will be overlooked.

Left Handed Chords Guitar Question
Any tips on the left hand for guitar?
I can’t do chords, because I can never move from one chord to the next without getting that annoying buzzing sound when your finger isn’t in the right place!!!
Acoustic guitar.
Practise, practise and more practise. There is no shortcut to learning how to play the guitar. Changing chords is challenging for a beginner. You have to get your fingers in the right place…every time.
I would have the music shop check that your action is not too high. This can make playing the guitar almost impossible. It is a common problem with cheap acoustic guitars.
The action is the string height above the fingerboard.

Left Handed Chords Guitar Information
Tips for Left Hand Guitarists
Are you a lefty? You want to play guitar but worried about whether there will be any problem for you to play well? There is nothing to worry. Some tips for left hand guitarists are provided below that will help you to compete equally with the right-handed guitarists.
There are some problems that almost every left-handed guitarist has to face. These tips for left hand guitarists will help you to get rid of these problems.
The first problem that happens with the lefties is they get confused about what guitar they should choose. There are two things that you can do. You can take a right hand guitar and just change the position of the strings. That means put the first string on the place of last string. After doing this, you can play. But this system can be a bit problematic. If this system suits you, then it is fine. Otherwise you can just buy a left hand guitar. But before choosing the guitar, do remember one thing. Settle down for playing the one, which you are comfortable with.
The next problem is sometimes the lefties find it difficult to understand the guitar lessons. Because majority of the guitarists are right handed. So the tutorials sometimes give emphasize to their way of playing. But do not get disheartened. It is not at all a big deal. The tips for left hand guitarists are with you always. Just reverse the whole lesson upside down and it will become completely your cup of tea.
The lefty guitarist sometimes faces the problem with the availability of their kind of guitars. Do not worry. If you go to a good shop, then you will find lots of lefty guitars. But remember, do not pick up and start playing a right hand guitar. Because it will prove that you are inexperienced and that there is a high chance that the shopkeeper will deliver you a defective one.
Do not feel ashamed of being a lefty guitarist. It is not a fault. Left hand guitarists are as good as the right-handers. Jimmy Hendrix, Curt Cobain, Paul Mc Cartney were all left hand guitarists. And the whole world is aware of their brilliance.
Before learning guitar, there are some more tips for left hand guitarists.
Do not try to play a right hand guitar in a lefty way. There will be a lot of problem while playing. The main problem will occur with the chords. Some chords will be impossible to handle. And it will not be a proper learning.
Do not even think of switching over to right hand guitar, if you are lefty guitarists. It will not give you that joy, which you will experience while playing a left hand guitar. And at the end of the day it is pure fun that matters the most.
Remember that it is true that a band with a lefty guitarist is 3% more attractive than others. These days everything depends on looks and packaging. And a left-handed guitar player looks fabulous.
So, do not hesitate while playing a left hand guitar. I hope these tips for left hand guitarists will help you. It will be able to boost up your energy. Do not think a lot. Just go ahead and rock the show.
