Finger wraps for easy guitar playing?
I just started playing the guitar (Ibanez Classic Acoustic) and my left hand finger tips hurt so bad after like 2 minutes. are there some kind of finger bandages or wraps I can use so they won’t hurt as bad during play.
I’m not into finger hardening either.
I’ve heard of the tip ends to ease the hurt while playing, but I’ve never tried any of them. I endured through the pain until the calluses came while playing on medium and heavy gauge strings for the acoustic. I knew I had to get past the pain to begin my improvement on the guitar so I did it.
Keep your fingertips dry as much as possible. Use talcum powder as a drying agent. The powder will also aid in smoother runs up and down the neck if you have progressed that far.
Use common sense in your practice routine. When the fingertips hurt beyond belief then take a break. You will simply have to resume more playing so the calluses will form. Until then, grin and bear it, knowing that forming the calluses is a small price to pay to learn how to play.
It seems every would-be guitar player wants to learn the easy way, just as the smoker that wants to quit must resort to patches and therapy. Forget the pain and endure it.
